Testing the Weather - The One Show
Info
BBC One
Testing the Weather
is a series for BBC1's
One Show
. It aims to examine the truth behind old weather lores such as: “red sky at night, shepherds delight, red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning” and "when the wind blows from the West the fish bite best but when the wind blows from the East the fish bite least". We've all heard these sayings but where do they come from? Are they true? And is their any scientific evidence to back them up?
With the help of Carol Kirkwood, the BBC’s favourite weather girl, a test team travels around Britain challenging those who live and work by these sayings. Can these ancient weather lores stand up to modern day meteorological tests? The One Show gets over 4.5 million viewers and is broadcast every week night.
